First and foremost, we want everyone to wear whatever they feel most comfortable in. You are not obligated to match a specific aesthetic or tradition unless you choose to do so! Please note that portions of all events may be outdoors, weather permitting.

For a fusion wedding, there are many traditions to consider, and if you would like to participate, we have included specific information about what to wear for each event.

Pellikuthuru/Pellikoduku (Google: Haldi)

This event involves the Bride and Groom being blessed and cleansed with turmeric in preparation for the wedding. The dress code is generally yellow (like the color of turmeric) or other bright colors. This dress code is less formal compared to other events—think sundress rather than prom dress.

Welcome Party/Sangeet

This is an evening where family and friends come together to meet new members attending the wedding. There will be dance performances, and it is a lively event. Attire typically includes colorful dresses, lehengas, sarees, or salwar.

Hindu Ceremony

This 1-2 hour ceremony includes traditional Hindu rites. Women often wear sarees, half sarees, lehengas, or formal dresses. Men typically wear a kurta, sherwani, dhoti, or suits. Choose whatever makes you feel great!

American Ceremony and Reception

This part of the wedding follows the traditional American format, where the bride wears a white dress and the groom wears a suit. Attire is typically formal, either American or Indian. Feel free to wear anything you'd like to enjoy the celebration!
